The Introductory course in acupressure/acupuncture examines the uses and applications of this ancient hands-on technique. Study in this field which has its roots in thousands of years of Chinese culture can be very rewarding. The techniques discussed and demonstrated are easy to do and require no needles or invasive techniques. The student will study the network of channels known as meridians and understand the importance they play in restoring health and balancing the body. This course is primarily about acupressure techniques and how to apply them. Upon completion of this course, the student will have a good understanding about the similarities and the differences of acupressure and acupuncture and will be able to easily decide upon their next direction of study. This course offers a certificate. This basic course does not however license you to practice; you must check your state for requirements if you decide to choose a career in acupuncture.
